Questions?
Here are some of the most common questions I get about working together.

Online therapy is basically the same as in person therapy, except it’s more accessible! I’ll provide a secure, HIPAA compliant link (that can be accessed from your phone or computer) for us to meet! Therapy is all about communication, therefore it’s important we both have our cameras on so we don’t miss out on body language and facial expressions. Please plan to have a confidential space available for our time together.
I am available to meet virtually anywhere throughout the state of Vermont.

Many clients are pleasantly surprised to learn that their insurance company reimburses a significant amount for therapy sessions with out-of-network providers. To determine what out-of-network benefits your plan offers, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:
1. Does your plan include “out-of-network” coverage for outpatient psychotherapy? You may be asked for a medical billing code, which is 90837.
2. Is a prior authorization needed?
3. What is your out-of-network deductible for mental health benefits? How much of your deductible has already been met?
4. What is your co-insurance? (What percentage does the plan cover?)
5. Is there a limit on the number of sessions your plan will cover per year?
6. How much will you be reimbursed for?
It is also helpful to ask about the process for submitting for reimbursement. Find out how you can submit your Super Bills to your insurance, which Upswing Counseling will provide for you via email on a monthly basis.
Services are HSA and FSA eligible!
*I am happy to help you understand what this information means. Once you inquire directly with your insurance company, shoot me an email with any questions you may have!

My fee for individual psychotherapy is $150 per 50 minute session.
I am an out-of-network provider, meaning I do not accept insurance directly, although many clients can still utilize insurance benefits to assist with the cost of therapy.
Services are HSA and FSA eligible!
If cost is a barrier, please inquire about the limited number of sliding fee spots I reserve in my practice.

Before we meet, I will email you a secure link to your individual portal containing intake documentation and additional information about my practice and policies. These forms can be completed virtually and will help us to get started!

My cancellation policy is 48 hours.
If you do not provide 48 hours notice or do not arrive at your scheduled appointment, you will be responsible for the full fee for your session.
